Oottupara is actually a big "para" (in malayalam - meaning is rock) which is situated amidst the ponthanpuzha forest which is at the southernmost part of Kottayam district. It has a walk way from the begining of the forest from melekavala which is situated in the mallappally ponthanpuzha route.
There is nothing but the forest. It is a beautiful site. Forest department has created a path to watch nature. It is a 3km long walkway. No vehicle would go.
It is only for nature lovers. Consent of forest department may be necessary for foreigners.
