Vallarpadam..... Cochin

The main attractions are church of our lady of Ransom. It was established in 1524 by the Portuguese.
After this was destroyed by the floods in the 17th century, the chrch was rebuilt in 1676. It was declared
as a special church by Pope Leo XIII in 1888.

The longest rail bridge in India is being completed in Vallarpadam.
The bridge is 4.62 kms long, and crosses the Vembanad lake to reach the mainland.
