vembanad lake meets with arabian sea...

A cruise boat is waiting lazily during a quiet and peaceful evening... This picture was taken from Marine Drive, the most beautiful place in Kochi, Kerala... This lake extends up to Arabian sea... This place has historical importance...  On the left side of this boat in the background you can see the Willingdon Island, land reclaimed from the lake around 1939.  The island is named after the erstwhile governor of Madras who conceived the project and Robert Bristow was the chief engineer of this project. On the right is the island of Vypeen.  This island is believed to be created by floods...

I liked very much Appu's creations. Sethu's art is very talented and clean. And I would like to see more Kerala with your eyes. Just a thought: maybe you will be interested to join citydailyphoto.com to express yourselves and to show us your beautiful region?
Thank you very much for the comment in my blog.

Hallo,
