IT IS FULL OF KURINJI
This is the season of Neela Kurinji. This season come to Munnar Hills and you can vitness the magic, that is the Neelagris (Blue Mountains) covering itself with Blue Coloured flowers. This happens only once in 12 years. Eravikulam National Park near the Kerala Tamil Nadu border is the best place to watch the blue blanket covering the hills. The scientific name of this plant which covers these hills is Strobilanthes kunthiana. This unique sight will be visible for a few more months. The kerala forest department is said to be arranging vehicles for visitors to watch the kurinji. This is because there is restriction for private vehicles entering this area. The reason for this restriction is to protect these plants. Public transport facility is available for visiting Rajamala....
Tourists can come here through Kottayam railway station which is about 150 kms away also, from where KSRTC and other transporting facilities may be available
